A straight answer
We'd rather you know than guess. Here's what wedding films tend to cost in Kentucky, what actually moves the price, and exactly what we charge.
01
Our film coverage starts at $2,800 for eight hours with Nathaniel, including a highlight film, the full ceremony and toasts, and a vertical cut. Photo and film together starts at $4,800 for ten hours with both of us. Elopements with photo and film start at $1,800. Extra hours are $350. Travel within 60 miles of Lexington is included, and beyond that it's what it costs us, with nothing added.
Across Kentucky you'll find wedding filmmakers anywhere from a little under two thousand dollars to well over six, with most experienced solo videographers somewhere in the middle. The range is wide because what's included varies even more than the price does.
02
Hours of coverage is the big one. Eight hours covers getting ready through the first part of the reception; ten covers the dance floor. Number of shooters is next. A second camera at the ceremony costs more and is worth it in a big room. Then deliverables. A three-minute highlight is less work than a highlight plus a full ceremony edit plus the toasts plus a vertical cut. Audio matters too. A filmmaker who mics the couple and the officiant and pulls a feed from the DJ is doing a lot more than one using the microphone on the camera, and the film sounds completely different.
Editing time is the hidden cost. A good four-minute film is cut from eight hours of footage and takes days, not hours. Drone work, raw footage, a longer documentary edit, and rush delivery all add to it.
03
At minimum, a highlight film with licensed music you can post anywhere, clear audio on the vows and toasts, and a full-length ceremony edit. We think the toasts and a vertical cut should be standard too, so ours are. Ask any videographer what happens to your raw footage, how long delivery takes, and whether the music is licensed. Those three questions sort out the pros quickly.
Our delivery is within ten weeks, with sneak peek clips much sooner, and a phone call before we send the films because we like hearing the reaction.
04
Photos are the thing you'll frame. The film is the thing you'll replay: the sound of your vows, your dad's voice in the toast, the way your friends laughed. Couples rarely say they regret the film. They often say they regret not getting one. If the budget only stretches to one of us, we'll tell you honestly which one fits your day better.

If your question isn't here, put it in the inquiry and we'll answer it there.
Because we're one crew with one planning call, one timeline, and one drive. Photo + Film at $4,800 is less than booking photo at $2,400 and film at $2,800 separately, and it includes ten hours instead of eight.
