Church weddings · Lexington + Kentucky

The ceremony is the point. We shoot it that way.

Our studio is named for Psalm 139. We care about the ceremony more than the party, and we know how to work inside a sanctuary: quietly, without flash, and with the vows recorded properly.

01

How we shoot a church ceremony

We talk to your officiant or the church coordinator before the day about where we're allowed to stand and whether we can move during the service, and then we respect it. No flash in the sanctuary. No walking up the aisle during the vows. Two people with quiet cameras and long lenses, one at the back and one to the side, so you get the whole room and the two of you without anyone noticing us.

Small microphones on the two of you and a recorder at the lectern mean the vows, the homily, and the readings all end up in the film, clearly, even in a big stone room with an echo.

02

Why it matters to us

The name Seen comes from Psalm 139, the one about being fully known before anyone ever picked up a camera. A church wedding is the clearest picture of that we get to stand in. We treat the ceremony as the main event rather than the thing to get through before the reception, and that shows in how much of it ends up in your gallery and your film.

Good to know

Questions people ask us.

If your question isn't here, put it in the inquiry and we'll answer it there.

  • No. We shoot ceremonies with fast lenses in the light that's there, and most churches have enough. It keeps the service undisturbed and the pictures honest.
